The focus of Marig Munsel is on building a strong foundational understanding of Buddhism. Lama Bruce Newman designed this course and has been teaching it for more than 15 years. Intended for modern American householders, Marig Munsel provides a rare opportunity to clarify the whole of the Buddhist path in an extended series of week-end classes.
At Dorje Ling we are just beginning the first year in this cycle of study. This April weekend is the second session in year one and newcomers are welcome to join us. This first year, Lama Bruce Newman is teaching primarily from a quintessential text of Tibetan Buddhism, The Jewel Ornament of Liberation, written by the 12th century Kagyu teacher Gampopa, the foremost student of the great Tibetan yogi, Milarepa; we are using the new version by Khenpo Konchog Gyaltsen Rinpoche.
Future class dates TBD - with 5 week-ends planned in a year. The suggested fee for the three sessions is $60. Pre-register on our website, or please let us know you are coming. Once registered, we will contact you with reading assignment etc.
Attending all three sessions is recommended but partial attendance is permitted. No one will be refused attendance due to a lack of funds. Questions Please contact to our Marig Munsel group at firstname.lastname@example.org
